Description |
Albino Hinojosa's poignant scene of an early model pick-up truck and an old frame house, visible at a distance across a wind-swept field is one that holds deep meaning for the artist. Born in Atlanta, Texas, Hinojosa was raised by his Cherokeee mother and Mexican-American father in Kildare, a small rural town in east Texas. According to Hinojosa, his father took great pride in his 1937 model Chevrolet truck, which was one of the most important items belonging to the family. Although he and his father did not have a close relationship, Hinojosa honors him through this work, which captures a very special time in his life. His father was and continues to be an inspiration to Hinojosa. |
