Description |
This watercolor painting depicts a forested area. The piece uses blotchy, overlapping colors, mostly red, green, and blue, to give depth to the scene. Tufts of grass sit closer to the foreground, while trees line up along the background. One the right, one tree seems to be raised higher than the others, possibly on a hill or raised land. The artist's signature sits in the bottom right of the piece. Artist Michael Frary was a Texas Modernist, known for his interest in structural forms and architecture, as well as his Surrealist impulses. |
